Can you believe that we’re more than half way through October? I hope everyone has the opportunity to make the most of the fleeting fall weather before it gets too cold. If there is anything we’ve learned from the past few months, it’s that our outdoor time is so precious! Please head out and try one of these suggestions of things to do over the weekend with friends and family, and take some time out to smell the pumpkins!
Friday, October 23
Winding Hills Golf Club – For a change of scenery, why not plan a relaxed dinner and drinks on their patio.
Saturday, October 24
Palaia Winery & Meadery – You may be wondering what’s a “meadery”?! Why not pay them a visit and find out first hand, but I will say that it’s got something to do with honey, fruits and the production of some drinkable delights.
Village of Monroe Fall Festival – Head over to Monroe for a mix of food, performances and fun family activities.
Sunday, October 25
Queens Botanical Garden – Head south with the kids to enjoy a pumpkin patch outing. This event is also being help on the Saturday if that’s better for you.
Hudson Valley Regional Farmers Market – Head over to our neighboring County of Putnam to beautiful Brewster to visit this year-round market open every Sunday from 10AM to 2PM.
FEATURED BUSINESS: RED HAT on the RIVER
Sunday promises to be gorgeous in the Westchester County area, but this weekend try to snag a table any time at one of the dozens of lovely Hudson River-side eateries. One of the many gems dotting our shoreline is Red Hat on the River. A beloved Irvington institution since 2003, it is also adored by French-American bistro lovers across our region.
