Outdoor Dinning

Westchester Weekend Updates

Westchester businesses and public spaces are gradually emerging from our State-Wide lockdown with modified practices to keep their patrons and the public safe, so please do call ahead or check the websites to ensure that you know what to expect. I’ve also included a movie option in this week’s update for an outdoor movie screening that will take place next Friday (August 7) because the tickets have to be pre-ordered and they sell out soooo quickly. But here are a few suggestions for things to try out this weekend.
 FRIDAY, July 31
Peekskill Brewery Fun outdoor patio experience to close out the week!

SATURDAY, August 1
Greenburgh Nature Center
Tarrytown Main Street Outdoor Dining The Village of Tarrytown will be allowing the businesses (restaurants put out tables, businesses put out displays) to use Main Street from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. (street will close from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. for set-up and clean-up) on Fridays and Saturdays through Labor Day weekend.

SUNDAY, August 2
Scarsdale Business Alliance Summer Sidewalk Sale (July 27 to August 7)
Rockefeller State Park Preserve (this is if you want to just take a simple walk and soak in the environment (bicycles, skateboards, scooters, fires, barbecuing, amplified music and sports play are not allowed)

JUST FOR KIDS…World Cup Gymnastics

Screening Under The Stars This event, and other like it require planning ahead because of limited availability.

I’m normally happy to just brew my cup of coffee at home, but sometimes we just want to spoil ourselves a little, and on those occasions (pre-Covid-19), we’d make our way to The Peekskill Coffee House for one of their cappuccinos. Thankfully, we’re now able to do that again. There’s just such a great atmosphere, and as a bonus…they have amazing breakfast options!

During this quarantine period, we’ve all gotten used to either cooking at home, or getting takeout.

But now we can look forward to many restaurants now opening up for outdoor dining. It’s great of course because we can now enjoy all their great food immediately as it comes out of the kitchen, but it’s also nice to be able to have something else to do which does not involve Facetime or Zoom.

Below are some establishments that I’ve confirmed are open for dining outdoors with all the requisite safety measures in place.
